Privacy

This notice explains what happens to personal data when you read iaget.org or write to its editors. The short answer is that there is very little of it.

Who is responsible

The controller of any personal data described here is iaget.org, reachable at editors@iaget.org. Correspondence about data is handled by the editors.

What the form collects

The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject and a message, plus a tick confirming that you have read this notice. Nothing else is requested, and no field asks for identification documents, payment details or location.

Legal basis and purpose

Correspondence is handled on the basis of legitimate interest in answering letters and in keeping the published records accurate, and on the basis of your consent where consent is the appropriate ground in your country. The data is used to reply to you and to check a fact. It is not used for marketing, profiling or automated decision-making, and it is never sold.

How long it is kept

Letters are kept for as long as they are useful to the record they concern, and normally for no more than twenty-four months. A correspondence that leads to a published correction may be kept longer, as evidence for that correction. Letters that need no action are deleted once answered.

Server logs

The hosting provider records ordinary technical logs: an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, the response code and a browser identification string. These logs exist for security and for keeping the site running. They are held for a short period, typically no longer than thirty days, and are not combined with anything from the form.

No tracking

There is no analytics on this site. No tracking scripts, no advertising pixels, no third-party cookies, no first-party cookies and no fingerprinting. Nothing is written to your browser's storage: the single script on the site opens and closes the navigation menu, and it holds no data. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to that service when a page loads.

Hosting and processors

The site is hosted by a provider acting as a processor under a written agreement. Email to the editors is handled by the mail service for that address. No other processor receives data from this site.

International transfer

Where a processor stores data outside your own country, the transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses or on an equivalent recognised mechanism. Details of the arrangement can be requested at the address above.

Your rights

You may ask for access to the data held about you, for its correction or erasure, for restriction of its processing, and for a copy in a portable form. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was lawful before. Requests go to editors@iaget.org and are answered within one month.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may complain to the data protection authority for the place where you live or work, or where you believe the problem occurred. Doing so does not affect any other remedy.
